Updated 2/1/2010 The Making of a Bun: #1) The Supplies: Brush, comb, 2 1/2 inch Bun Heads open hair pins (Shelley's or DiscountDance.com), regular bobby pins, regular open hair pins, Pny Tail Holder (Dark brown, blak or light brown to match hair color) hair gel, hair spray and clear or match to hair thin hair net.
#2) Brush out all the knots and get as smooth as possible. Those with very curly hair may need to straighten your hair first. Part hair to the left of center with a comb and smooth down.
#3) Pour gel into one of your hands and smooth over hair to define the part and then pull hair into a low pony tail. (in this picture the bangs have been left out, but for competition you must pull the bangs back and fasten with closed bobby pins. Make sure to get the pony tail holder it as tight as you can get it. Add an additional pony tail holder for extra security.
#4) If your number requires a bun continue on with the following directions. #5) Twist Pony tail clockwise (right) until tight . #6) Start forming the bun by wraping the twisted pony tail clockwise, and pin (2 1/2 " open hair pin) in each time you turn. You should only need 5 of these heavy duty pins.
#7 Bun, wait your not done...
