Nancy Richer

Experience

Los Angeles Ballet School; Guest Faculty; June 2008- Present
Taught ballet technique classes for an intermediate and advanced level to classes ranging from 15 to 30 students, whose ages ranged from 8 to 19 years old.  Also taught pointe classes to the intermediate level.

Los Angeles Ballet; Company Dancer, September 2006- Present
Selected as an inaugural company member for the company’s inception. Has danced numerous roles in the repertoire including principal roles in Balanchine’s “Who Cares?” and “Tarantella” and Bournonville’s “Napoli” and Thordal/Neary’s “The Nutcracker”. Has also danced corps roles in Balanchine’s “Serenade”, “Rubies”, and “The Four Temperaments”. Has originated a corps role in Jennifer Backhaus’ “She Said/He Said”.

Ballet Academy East, New York, NY; Student Teacher Assistant; September 2000- June 2004
Selected to assist various teachers in the graded level faculty including Darla Hoover, Barbara Sandonato, Stacey Caddell, and Olga Dvorovenko. Responsible for demonstrating combinations, correcting students placement and technique, taking attendance, and assisting in keeping students focused and engaged. Class size ranged from 15 to 20 students, with an age range from 6 to 10 years old.

Oregon Ballet Theater; Apprentice; August 2005- June 2006
Rehearsed and performed with the company. Appeared in a variety of corps de ballet roles including Balanchine’s “The Nutcracker”, “Divertimento No. 15”, “Who Cares?” and Christopher Stowell’s “Swan Lake”. Also participated in the company’s community outreach program performing for Portland area elementary schools.

Invited after attending the 2004 summer program to attend the school’s year round program in the highest level on a merit scholarship.
